The arrested individual, identified as Munna Sharma (30) from Bihar’s Vaishali district, confessed to the crime. Sharma revealed that this was his second attempt to smuggle marijuana from Tripura to Bihar. He had purchased the marijuana for ₹4,500 per kilogram in the Khajur Bagan area of Agartala, intending to sell it in Bihar at a price of ₹10,000 per kg. During his first trip, he had successfully completed the smuggling operation but was caught during his second attempt.

Churaibari police station’s officer-in-charge, Khokon Saha, confirmed that a case has been filed under sections 22(B)(ii)(B) and 29 of the NDPS Act (47/24). Sharma will be presented in court for remand, and further investigations may reveal more details about the narcotics network.
