Agartala March 29: A lorry loaded with cannabis was seized by the police of Bagbassa out post in the north. This cannabis were in the secret chamber. On Tuesday evening, the Bagabassa out post police received a tip-off regarding the smuggling of ganja and the police, led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debashish Saha, started a search on the national highway. The police became suspicious when they saw the lorry No. NL 01 A F 2378 parked in Nowagang Bazar area under Bagbassa out post.

The police seized the lorry. The police found the location of the secret chamber after bringing it to the outpost and conducting a search. The police were able to cut the chamber and recover a large amount of dried cannabis. 274 kg of dried cannabis was recovered in 41 packets, said the Sub-Divisional Police Officer. He also said that the driver of the lorry has been arrested. The accused’s name is Ajay Reang of Bishalgarh.
