Agartala: April 17: In a significant step towards democratic participation, door-to-door polling has begun in Dharmanagar, North Tripura. The reserved seat is witnessing this unique initiative on April 17-18, allowing eligible voters to cast their ballots from the comfort of their homes. Door-to-door polling specifically targets two groups, elderly citizens who may find it challenging to visit polling stations.

Ensuring accessibility for all, Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Shyamjoy Jamatia confirmed that house-to-house polling commenced at 9 am. The following areas are actively participating

Voting will continue until 5 pm, after which election workers will submit their reports. Kulin Kumar Nath, a resident of Swarnamoyi Lane in the 56 Vidhan Sabha constituency, expressed gratitude to the Election Commission. His 94-year-old mother, Prabasini Nath, exercised her right to vote from home, thanks to this thoughtful decision.
