Don’t steal electricity through hook lines during Durga Puja: Power Minister

Agartala 29 September: Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja and Kali Puja are the biggest festivals of the state. People of all religions participate in this festival. In this case, the power corporation has a big role to play. In 2021, there was the highest demand for electricity during from Shasthi to Dasami, the peak hours of Saptami; there was a demand of 327 mega watts. In 2022, the power demand on the fifth day of peak hour was 332 MW. This time considering everything, it is estimated that 380 mega watts of electricity demand will be reached during peak hours.

Currently there is 300 MW in stock. The remaining 80 mega watts have been arranged. In this case, Bangladesh will be provided with less electricity. Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this at the pre-puja review meeting of TSECL at Prajna Bhaban on Friday. Rukhiya had some problem with the third unit. That’s pretty much settled. A little work remains. Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that he will go to Delhi on October 5 and meet the Union Power Minister to resolve the problem. A meeting was held on September 13 to keep the electricity service in order. After that, the second round of meeting was held on Friday. All work will be completed by October 10.

On October 11, the secretary will discuss and inquire through video conference. Adequate transformers are stocked at all locations. There are other items. Dims, SPs, local leaders and mayors of eight districts will be spoken to. He called for the cooperation of 42 lakh people. Clubs are particularly urged to declare correct loads. By doing this it will be possible to keep the service normal. Also urge to take proper connection. Minister Ratan Lal Nath gave a message not to steal electricity. The minister advised big clubs to have generators. All employees holiday from Panchami to Lakshmi Puja have been cancelled, extra worker will be kept. It’s applicable to all staff from secretary to lower floor. Minister Ratan Lal Nath urged to inform the corporation in advance about the route Dashmi will take.
