District-Level Vidya Fest Begins in Khowai

Agartala: Nov 29: A four-day district-level Vidya Fest has started today at the new town hall in Khowai. The event has been organized by the District Level Vidya Fest Organizing Committee. Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma inaugurated the four-day event.

 

Inaugurating the district-level Vidya Fest, the Forest Minister said that the government has prioritized the development of the state’s traditional culture and heritage. The current generation needs to be made aware of the traditions of the state’s traditional culture and heritage. He said that students should be educated in real education and become established. Students should come forward for the welfare of the country and the people. He appealed to the teachers to educate the students in quality education so that they can learn something. He said that culture and heritage are our assets.

 

Apurna Singha Roy (Dutta), the chairperson of Khowai Zila Parishad, said in the program that the government is working for the overall development of the state as well as the development of the education infrastructure. She emphasized on further developing the quality of education by providing quality education to the students.

 

Chandni Chandran, the District Magistrate of Khowai, delivered the welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony. Charu Verma, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Khowai, presided over the function.

 

Padmashree Deepa Karmakar, Additional District Magistrate Sumit Kumar Pandey, Principal of Sachin Debbarman Memorial Govt. Music College Dr. Monika Das, and District Education Officer Dinesh Debbarma were among those present at the event. Students from various schools performed patriotic songs and dances at the event. A documentary on child marriage was screened at the event.

 

Students from 12 Vidya Jyoti schools in Khowai district will participate in 28 events including music, dance, drama, essay writing, art, music, yoga, rangoli, poetry, etc. at the district-level Vidya Fest. The closing ceremony of the four-day Vidya Fest will be held at Teliamura Town Hall on December 2. Twelve exhibition stalls have been opened on the premises of the town hall on the occasion of the district-level Vidya Fest.
