Ampi, , 1st of November 2023.
The forest officials of Dharma Nagar seized illegal teak woods from train in the dawn of today. when the train leaves from Dharmanagar to Silchar at five and twenty minutes, the staff of Dharmanagar Forest Department raided and recovered 25 feet of teak woods. According to the details of the incident, RPF and GRPF were accused of smuggling a lot of teak wood from the state by rail. Based on secret information, forest department staff led by sub divisional forest officer of Dharmanagar forest department Subrata Sen and ranger Hemanta Debnath started searching the Dharmanagar Silchar bound train from 3:30 am to 4:00 am. During the search, 25 feet of teak wood was found in the very last compartment of the train, the market value of which is around 35 thousand rupees. But it was not possible to catch anyone who was with the wood. They ran away after being searched. Meanwhile, allegations of dereliction of duty have surfaced against RPF and GRPF. Because even if the woods were passed in front of their eyes, then how they did not see? It is suspected that they may have connection with the smugglers. In this way the revenue of lakhs of rupees of the state government is being lost throughout the years. The forest officials of the northern district should be more active to stop the smuggling activities of  wood smugglers.
