Agartala, February 28: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that it is better not to engage in politics over developmental work, which is meant for the welfare of the common people.

“It is better not to do politics with developmental work for the needs of the common people. The current state government is working sincerely for the overall development of the state. Tripura ranks second highest in terms of GSDP and per capita income among the states of the North Eastern region,” he said.

Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating a mega blood donation camp organized at the Ward Community Hall on Friday at the initiative of Agartala Municipal Ward No. 39.

The Chief Minister also criticized the communists for failing to work towards the state’s development.

At the event, Dr. Saha said, “There are many lessons to be learned from blood donation. If there is opacity in the blood, it cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Similarly, if there is opacity in society, the society will not accept it either. Earlier, we used to see opacity everywhere, which is why people have abandoned them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also always emphasizes transparency. Additionally, blood donation helps in detecting health conditions, as tests conducted before donation can reveal diseases. Therefore, it is very necessary to organize such blood donation camps. One cannot survive without blood, just as good deeds are necessary for the well-being of society.”

He further emphasized that the demand for blood cannot be met by purchasing it from the market but only through voluntary blood donation programs.

“There is no greater donation than blood donation. Blood is essential during surgeries in hospitals, which is why it must be stored beforehand. There are four types of blood classification, including positive and negative groups. In our state of Tripura, people always extend a helping hand whenever there is a need for blood,” he said.

Dr. Saha also stated that Tripura is now recognized for its development.

“Earlier, we used to hear only ‘Zindabad Zindabad’ slogans. Whenever any developmental work was initiated, there were attempts to obstruct it. The communists created problems in various sectors, including employment. Now, our government is working to resolve those issues,” he said.

The event was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Corporator of Ward No. 39 Alok Roy, and several other prominent dignitaries.
