Deep Depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal turn into Cyclone ‘Midhili’

Agartala: Nov 17: Deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into cyclonic storm ‘Midhili’. The deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal has moved north-northeast at a speed of 20 kmph and intensified into Cyclone “Midhili” in the last 6 hours.

Today 17 November over northwest Bay of Bengal at latitude 20.1°N and longitude 88.5°N, about 190 km east of Paradip (Odisha), 200 km south-southeast of Digha (West Bengal) and 220 km of Khepupara (Bangladesh). The cyclone has subsided in the southwest.

 

According to the Meteorological Department, this cyclone is likely to move in a north-northeast direction. This low pressure will reach the coast of Bangladesh near Khepupara tomorrow at a speed of 80 kmph.
