Agartala: May 06: Floating body of missing person found in Gomti river. This morning, there was a sensation in the case of the recovery of the dead body in Gomati river in Chanban area under Radhakishorpur police station. On receiving the information, the police of Radhakishorpur police station rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem examination. For now, the police are starting the investigation by handling the unusual death case.

An eyewitness said that he saw the body of a person floating in the river Gomati around 9 am. Immediately, he reported to Radhakishorpur police station. The news came under the leadership of police station OC Babul Das and TSR forces. The police recovered the body and confirmed his death and sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. In this regard, OC Babul Das said that the deceased was initially known to be Dilip Ghosh, a resident of Udaipur Khilpara. He was a rickshaw driver by profession. When Dilip Ghosh’s family was informed, they came and identified the dead body.

He also added that Dilip Das had left the house three days ago without informing anyone of the family. The family members searched a lot but no trace of him was found. He also came to know that Dilip did not have a good relationship with his wife and children. Finally, his dead body was found floating in Gomati river this morning, he said.

He said that the cause of death of Dilip Das is not yet known. The cause of death will be known after the post-mortem. For now, the police have started investigating the case of unusual death.
