Agartala: Nov 04: Twenty-four hours after the recovery of the mother’s body, the dead body of the minor girl was recovered from the Dumbur reservoir. Father of the decease identified the dead body. The incident created a lot of tension in various sub-divisions including Gandachera, Amarpur and Ampi. Along with this, there is a demand to arrest and hang the real culprits among the common people.
It should be noted that on the auspicious day of Ashtami of the recently concluded Durga Puja i.e. Sunday, October 22, Rupeshwari Jamatia, the wife of day laborer Jugalkishor Jamatia of Tingharia between Amarpur and Ampinagar, came home after collecting ration items from the market of Tingharia. According to the neighbor that she brought ration material and talked to some person on mobile phone for a long time. After that, mother Rupeshwari Jamatia and daughter Yashodharani alias Jhansi left the house around noon.
After that, it is known that the mother and daughter saw various puja pandals in Amarpur at around eleven o’clock in the night and spent two consecutive nights in a tenant’s house in Amarpur Sadar. On October 24, the mother and daughter were brought to Raisyabari in Gandachhera sub-district to show them the Dumbur reservoir and the Narkel Kunja.
Special sources in Raisyabari said that on Tuesday October 24, mother Rupeshwari Jamatia and daughter Jashodarani Jamatia were sitting in a shop in Raisyabari. When the shopkeeper asked them to where are they going, mother Rupeshwari replied that they will go to Bhuiyanchara. After some time, two men came and took the mother and daughter away. From then they are missing and tomorrow the dead body of the mother recovered and after 24 hours the dead body of minor girl also recovered. The dead body of Rupeshwari Jamatia was recovered from the Dumbur water body in a sack on Wednesday. The dead body of an innocent ninth grade student, Jashodarani alias Jhansi, was recovered from the said Dumbur reservoir. Those culprits became so ferocious that they tied a rope around the girl’s neck and hung big stones on it so that the girl’s body would not float away. The unfortunate father rushed to the spot and identified Yashoda as his daughter. In the morning, the sky of the Gandachhara sub-district hospital premises became heavy with the screams of the family members.
After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family. The incident has created a lot of excitement in different subdivisions including Amarpur, Ampinagar, Gandachara. Common people have demanded the arrest and execution of the culprits involved in the incident.
