Damchara Police Seize 60,000 Yaba Tablets in Successful Anti-Drug Operation

Agartala:  March 21:  In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing anti-drug campaign, the Damchara police station has achieved a major success. Acting on intelligence from confidential sources, law enforcement officers successfully intercepted a vehicle and recovered a staggering 60,000 Yaba tablets.

The operation unfolded when the police received information that a substantial quantity of narcotics was poised to enter the state. Acting swiftly, officers conducted a thorough search of a passenger Bolero car with the license plate number TR01BG0314, which had just entered the state from Aizawl. Their efforts yielded a substantial haul of Yaba tablets, with an estimated market value of approximately Rs 6 crore.

North District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty confirmed the arrests of two individuals in connection with the drug seizure. The apprehended suspects are identified as Krishna Chandra Singh, a resident of Ranirbazar, and Mohammad Hossain, a resident of Bishalgarh. Both individuals are now facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

This successful operation underscores the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking and safeguarding public health. The Damchara police station remains committed to its mission of curbing the illegal drug trade and ensuring the safety of the community.
