Agartala: April 27: A heartwarming incident unfolded during the recent elections in East Tripura Parliamentary Constituency. Head Constable Montu Bora, a dedicated member of the 124th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), demonstrated exceptional compassion and commitment to duty.
While on duty at the Uptakhali Panchayat office in Booth No. 33, Assembly No. 57 of North Tripura District, Bora noticed a mother struggling in the scorching heat. The woman, holding her infant child, stood in a long line to cast her vote. Witnessing her plight, Bora stepped forward, not only as a security personnel but also as a compassionate human being.
He gently took the child from the mother’s arms, allowing her to vote without further difficulty. Balancing his security responsibilities with an act of kindness, Bora exemplified the dual role that soldiers play – safeguarding the nation and supporting their fellow citizens.
The heartwarming image of the fearless child cradled in the arms of the CRPF jawan circulated widely on social media and in newspapers. In recognition of his selflessness, the state police administration and the CRPA felicitated Bora on Saturday.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder that our soldiers not only protect us but also extend their humanity to those they serve. Bora’s actions embody the spirit of patriotism and compassion that transcends duty boundaries.
As the mother reclaimed her baby after a few minutes, the impact of Bora’s gesture continued to resonate. The DIG and Commandant of the 124th Battalion, Mukesh Tyagi, acknowledged his exemplary conduct. Additionally, North Tripura District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty awarded him a special commendation for his outstanding act of kindness and service to the community.
