“CPM-Congress Dynamics in Kerala and Tripura: Impact on Tripura’s Political Landscape”

Agartala: Apr 08: Former Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman pulled no punches during an election rally in Khululung today. His ire was directed squarely at the CPM and Congress, whose intricate relationship has shaped Tripura’s political trajectory.

Debbarman vowed to champion tribal development relentlessly, asserting, “I will fight for the tribals until my last breath, without compromising their trust.”

Reflecting on past electoral battles, he recounted his struggle as the Congress president against the CPM. Despite the fight, the permanent friendship between the two parties, masquerading as political opposition, ultimately led to Congress ceding Tripura to the CPM.

In a sardonic twist, Debbarman quipped, “CPM and Congress wrestle in Kerala but embrace in Tripura.” This policy, he claimed, had left Congress with a zero presence in the state.

Anticipating defections, he expressed hope that Congress leaders and workers would join the BJP post-Lok Sabha elections.

Debbarman issued a plea to Congress loyalists: “Refrain from voting for the CPM.” He firmly believed that the BJP-led government held the key to tribal progress in Tripura.

Addressing the digital arena, he observed, “CPM flexes its muscles on social media, while the befuddled Congress and CPM sideline the royal family. But the people of Tripura are no fools. My support isn’t bought—it’s earned through hard work.”
