Left Front convenor Narayan Kar alleged that BJP-backed miscreants are threatening to kill candidates supported by Left Front. Candidates are unable to file nominations. BJP sponsored miscreants have been attacking them continuously. Many candidates and workers supporters were injured. Therefore, the Left Front demands that the Election Commission should take the decision to submit the nominations of the opposition candidates.

On this day, Pabitra Kar said that the Left Front and CPM have made complete preparations for the panchayat elections. But since the announcement of the election date, the opposition party candidates have been attacked. They cannot file nominations. Especially in Bamutia, Mohanpur, Dukli Block, Old Agartala and Jirania Blocks of West Tripura cannot submit nominations.

According to him, around 20 activist supporters were injured in the attack by BJP-backed miscreants. Besides, Rajnagar block candidate Badal Sheel was attacked by miscreants. But the administration is playing a silent role. Despite demanding the Election Commission to provide protection to the candidates, they are not taking any initiative to fulfill their demands. Today they have joined the road blockade in protest.
