Agartala: Oct 29: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] recently organized a protest march to express their concerns over pressing national issues. Central to their opposition is the “One Nation, One Election” proposal, which they argue undermines the principles of democracy and federalism. The party contends that this initiative centralizes power and diminishes the unique political contexts of individual states, potentially leading to a homogenized governance that ignores regional needs.

Additionally, the CPI(M) is vocally demanding a reduction in the prices of essential commodities, particularly petrol and diesel. With rising costs impacting everyday life, the party emphasizes that alleviating financial burdens on citizens is crucial for maintaining their well-being and economic stability.

Another significant point raised during the march was the urgent need to address youth unemployment. With a large segment of the population facing joblessness, the party calls on the government to create meaningful employment opportunities and invest in skill development programs to empower young people.

Lastly, the deteriorating law and order situation in the state has raised alarm among the protesters. They urge the government to take decisive action to restore safety and security, as a stable environment is vital for both personal well-being and economic growth.

Through this protest, the CPI(M) seeks to mobilize public opinion and hold the government accountable for addressing these critical issues, emphasizing the need for responsive and responsible governance.
