Agartala: Nov 05: Although not the leading opposition party in the state, the Congress is intensifying its efforts to assert its presence and challenge the current government’s policies. Recently, the Pradesh Congress has been vocal in raising concerns about various issues, particularly the state’s law and order situation. A few days ago, the party announced plans for a solidarity march, a move aimed at rallying support and showing strength in the political arena.

The Congress high command directed the party to organize this solidarity march on the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a significant date in the party’s history. The leadership has taken responsibility for organizing the event and ensuring it aligns with the party’s broader message of unity and progress. On Tuesday, the Bishalgarh District Congress organized the march, which aimed to promote the values of a united, secular, and progressive India.

The march began in front of the Congress party office near the Golaghati bypass in Bishalgarh. Prominent figures such as Congress leader Joydip Roy Barman, District Congress President Gopinath Saha, and Block Congress President, along with local Congress workers from the Bishalgarh Assembly area, participated in the event. The march proceeded along a route that took it through several areas, including Nadilak, Dhwajanagar, and Baidyardighi.

Tight security arrangements were put in place to ensure the safety of the participants and smooth conduct of the march. Joydip Roy Barman, a key leader in the district, provided details about the purpose and significance of the march, emphasizing that it was a call for the restoration of values of democracy, secularism, and unity in the country. The march underscored the Congress party’s commitment to fighting for the people and holding the government accountable for its actions.
