Congress Condemns Insult to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Demands Resignation of Union Home Minister

Agartala: Dec 24: Congress has strongly condemned the insult to the Constitution’s architect, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Today, a ‘Baba Saheb Ambedkar Honour March’ was organized from the Congress Bhavan in Agartala, and a deputation was submitted to the West District Magistrate demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

On Tuesday afternoon, at the initiative of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, a ‘Baba Saheb Ambedkar Honour March’ was taken out from the Congress Bhavan in Agartala and a deputation was submitted to the West District Magistrate. Notably, a demand was made to the President through the District Magistrate for the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Ambedkar issue.

 

Addressing the media, Youth Congress President Nilkamal Saha said that insulting the Constitution’s architect, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, is tantamount to insulting the Constitution of the country. The Pradesh Congress cannot accept this in any way. Therefore, this step has been taken against the distasteful remarks of the Union Home Minister.

 

He further said that the Indian National Congress is immediately demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Besides, the Congress’s main demand is that he should apologize to the countrymen.

 

Meanwhile, protests have been organized in several districts of the state at the call of the National Congress. Today, in many parts of the state, at the call of the Indian National Congress, protest marches were taken out against the distasteful remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament regarding B.R. Ambedkar.

 

On Tuesday, a protest program was organized by the Gomati District Congress. This protest march started from the Congress party office located at Udaipur Jamtala and ended in front of the office of the District Magistrate after passing through various roads in the city. Today, in this program, a delegation led by Titon Pal, President of Gomati District Congress, submitted a memorandum to the President of India demanding the resignation of the Union Home Minister to the Additional District Magistrate Jayanta Bhattacharya.

 

Meanwhile, a protest march was organized by the Congress in Bishramganj demanding the resignation of Amit Shah. A deputation was also submitted to the President through the District Magistrate demanding the resignation of the Union Home Minister.

 

Today, a protest march was also organized from the Khowai Congress Bhavan. The march ended at the office of the Khowai District Magistrate with Congress workers. A delegation of Khowai Congress submitted a deputation to the District Magistrate demanding the resignation of the Union Home Minister.

 

Meanwhile, along with every district of the state, a ‘Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Honour March’ was organized today at the initiative of the Teliamura District Congress. Party supporters expressed their anger against the Union Home Minister through the march.

Party workers said that this honour march was organized with the aim of protecting the Constitution of the country from the anti-constitutional BJP government.
