Agartala, April 08: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly for the overall welfare of the indigenous people of the state, and the present state government is also working in line with the direction of PM Modi.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly for the overall welfare of the tribals. He always thinks about the development of the indigenous people, and our government is also working in that direction. If indigenous people join the BJP, the country and the state will be stronger,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha said this while participating in a party programme in Takarjala on Tuesday to celebrate the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He said that a party program had been organized to mark the BJP’s foundation day.
“Basically, today’s conference is organized for the active members of the party. Various important issues were discussed during the conference. Talks were also held with various people. In this conference, about 140 members from 50 families have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. They have mainly joined our party from the Congress and the CPIM. I welcome them on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” he said.

The Chief Minister further said, “I am appealing to the indigenous brothers and sisters that, just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is thinking about the tribal people and our government is also thinking about them—if you join the Bharatiya Janata Party knowing this, the country and the state will become stronger in the future.”

Dr. Saha added that this government is no longer just the government of the Bharatiya Janata Party alone.

“We have IPFT and Tipra Motha with us. We will decide the next strategy after discussions with all the parties. The top leadership of the tribal wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party was present at this programme today,” he added.
