Agartala, November 21:
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday issued a strong warning to ruling ally Tipra Motha, stating that his government will not tolerate any form of political violence or attempts to intimidate opponents. His remarks followed the alleged attack on a BJP party office at Khumulwng, headquarters of the TTAADC, which was reportedly set on fire by Tipra Motha supporters.

Returning from Bihar after attending Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s oath-taking ceremony, Saha said those who believe political influence can be maintained through violence must “leave that path immediately.” He added that strict police action is unavoidable in such incidents.

Saha also blamed the “violent political culture introduced by the Communists,” claiming its remnants still persist despite the BJP’s efforts to bring change. While acknowledging improved dialogue with Tipra Motha leaders, including Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, he stressed that such violent acts remain unacceptable.
