Agartala, August 22: Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha today unveiled the ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ Vision Document at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, with an aim to transform Tripura into a developed state by the year 2047.
The document lays out a detailed roadmap for building a “Prosperous and Progressive Tripura” under the slogan “Unnoto Tripura, Shrestha Tripura.” It highlights strategies to strengthen the economy, increase per capita income, achieve higher GDP growth, ensure 100% use of renewable energy, attain total literacy, empower women, and expand international trade, thereby leading the state towards self-reliance.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said that the primary goal of the vision document is to ensure an inclusive, secure, healthy, and prosperous future for the people, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” He emphasized the target of building a $124 billion economy for Tripura, which would require collective efforts and contributions from all sectors of society.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, and information technology. He noted that during the tenure of the present government, a total of 19,742 government jobs, including those under the die-in-harness scheme, have been provided. Special focus has also been given to women empowerment, he added.
Finance, Planning and Coordination Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and NITI Aayog’s Program Director Rajib Kumar Sen also addressed the gathering, stressing on the roadmap’s importance for sustainable development. Members of the state cabinet and other senior officials were also present at the occasion.
The launch of the ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ vision document marks a significant step towards shaping the future of Tripura with clear developmental goals and inclusive growth strategies.
