Agartala: October 07: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today criticized the opposition for their negative attitude towards development, stating that progress and development pose a challenge to their political survival.
Dr. Saha said this during the inauguration of several projects, including the renovation and restoration of Ujjayanta Palace Garden, at Ujjayanta Palace, Agartala.

“The Ujjayanta Palace is a testament to the rich history and heritage of Tripura. Restoration and renovation of it will not only preserve our heritage but also increase its potential as a tourist attraction,” he said.

The project was implemented with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Speaking at the event, which was organized at the Ujjayanta Palace premises, Dr. Saha highlighted that Agartala Smart City Limited had spearheaded the renovation and restoration of the palace gardens.

“I visited the site multiple times during the work. We were eagerly waiting for its completion, and today, on this auspicious occasion, it has been inaugurated. A well-planned, citizen-friendly management system has been established. The design of the project is centered around the city’s needs,” he said.

The Chief Minister also announced plans for further beautification and the introduction of water sports at Radhasagar near Laxminarayan Bari.
“A walking path has been constructed alongside the area. Additionally, beautiful lighting, a parking zone, a multi-activity plaza, and other facilities have been developed. The government is making all the necessary arrangements to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors. We are working for the welfare of the people under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To us, Prime Minister Modi symbolizes development,” Dr. Saha emphasized.
During the event, the Chief Minister also criticized the opposition for their attempts to hinder progress.
“The state government is committed to development, and we are moving forward with clear goals. Some are trying to obstruct this progress because they feel that development threatens their existence. They claim there is no development in Tripura, but this is simply to serve their own interests. Their criticism will not yield any results. We are focused on working with transparency,” he added.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, along with other officials and distinguished guests, were also present at the event.
