CM Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurates Blood Donation Camp on PM Modi’s 74th Birthday

Agartala: Sept 18: Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation, highlighting it as a noble act that transcends caste and gender differences. He made these remarks while inaugurating a blood donation camp organized by the Maharani Tulsivati Welfare Trust at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Home. The event was held to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday.

During the event, the Chief Minister praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting the country’s progress in various sectors under his tenure. He mentioned several key initiatives, including the abolition of triple talaq, which has benefited Muslim women, and the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35(A) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has provided housing in both urban and rural areas, and the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which offers financial assistance to farmers. Additionally, he spoke about the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which provides free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family member.

Dr. Saha commended the Prime Minister’s efforts in uniting the nation through the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program and the successful organization of the G-20 summit. He also acknowledged the recognition of Janjati community members with Padma Shri awards and the appointment of former Deputy Chief Minister Yishnu Devavarma as the Governor of Telangana.

The Chief Minister mentioned the state’s initiatives for tribal development, including a ₹1,400 crore loan from the Asian Development Bank for education and communication improvements. He noted the establishment of 21 Eklavya model residential schools to provide quality education to children in tribal areas.

Dr. Saha concluded by highlighting the improved peace and infrastructure in the North Eastern states, attributing these advancements to the Prime Minister’s sincere efforts. He also mentioned the implementation of the new National Education Policy and the resolution of the long-standing issue of blue-refugee resettlement.

West Tripura District Commissioner Dr. Vishal Kumar added that the state had faced a blood shortage in recent months. In response, the Chief Minister called on social organizations and clubs to participate in voluntary blood donation, which has seen a positive response.
