Agartala: Feb 12: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha issued a stern warning against any attempts to revive insurgency in the state, stating that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in such activities. He emphasized that the state’s hard-earned peace must be protected, and authorities have all the necessary information about potential threats. Dr. Saha remarked that during the communist era, Tripura was plagued by chaos, and the state has now become one of the best-performing states in the Northeast, with a special focus on socio-economic development, particularly for women.

The Chief Minister made these comments during the inauguration and foundation-laying of several development projects in Jirania, West Tripura, including motor stands and district transport offices, with a total investment of Rs. 40.58 crore. He highlighted the progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the Act East Policy, which has significantly boosted development in the Northeast. He also emphasized that the transport sector’s current management benefits vehicle owners, drivers, and passengers, unlike the past when communist rule focused on slogans rather than action.

Dr. Saha further praised the peaceful environment in Tripura, now free from extremism, a result of peace agreements signed with militant groups. He reflected on the past, noting how the state once suffered from election-related violence and unrest. The Chief Minister urged the public to ensure that such disruptions do not return and promised to continue working for the people’s rights, following the path set by Prime Minister Modi.

Dr. Saha also mentioned the government’s focus on improving health, agriculture, tourism, and sports, and revealed plans for a five-star heritage hotel to promote Tripura’s cultural history and create employment opportunities.
