Agartala, September 5, 2024 – A Class 12 student from Nandannagar Higher Secondary School, Ratnadweep Rudra Pal, was injured in a stabbing incident allegedly involving a Class 10 student. Ratnadweep is currently receiving treatment at GB Hospital in Agartala.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the electricity switch for the Class 12 room, which was located in the Class 10 room. Some Class 10 students had been turning off the electricity to the Class 12 room, leading to a confrontation.

The situation escalated when a Class 10 student allegedly brought outsiders armed with sharp weapons onto the school premises. These outsiders reportedly attacked Ratnadweep, causing serious injuries. Another Class 12 student at the hospital mentioned that around 10-15 outsiders had entered the school with weapons.

The school’s headmistress stated that the school gates were locked during school hours. She heard that a Class 10 student had scaled the wall to bring the outsiders into the school. The injured student was immediately taken to GB Hospital, and the accused student was detained within the school premises. A meeting was convened to address the situation.
