Agartala: Oct 08: A violent clash between two communities in Kadamtala market has led to the vandalism and looting of 65 shops and houses. The district administration has intervened to provide relief to the affected individuals. As a symbolic gesture, 20 people have received financial assistance of ₹5,000 each, with further assistance to be provided in phases. The police have arrested eight individuals involved in the incident.

The tensions in Kadamtala market escalated due to a dispute over fund collection, resulting in acts of vandalism, looting, and arson. The area remains tense, with strict security measures implemented under Section 163 of the new Criminal Procedure Code. All shops in Kadamtala are closed, and CRPF and PSR forces have been deployed. Vehicular movement has been completely halted.
