At the event, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of such quiz competitions in raising awareness. He noted the loss of valuable human resources due to road accidents, which is a national issue. He stressed the need for awareness in consumer protection and building a drug-free Tripura, where the Tripura Police and other agencies are working towards this goal. He encouraged students, who are the future of the country, to continue the resistance against drugs alongside the common people. Awareness is crucial, and these competitions foster interest and participation among the public.

Dr. Saha further highlighted that students are the assets of the country, and making them aware of consumer and road safety will benefit the state government. He praised the achievements of Tripura’s students at both national and international levels, mentioning a student from বিলোনিয়া who participated in Pariksha Pe Charcha with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr. Saha expressed pride in the student’s representation of Tripura.

He urged everyone to identify and report those involved in drug supply, emphasizing that a good society enables better student performance. Reflecting on the past, he mentioned the miserable condition of schools and colleges 30 years ago when bombs were thrown during exams. The situation has since improved, but the new threat of drugs has emerged, necessitating a united war against it.

Dr. Saha also discussed necessary steps regarding consumer rights and safety. He pointed out that many road accidents result from improper helmet use, causing serious injuries. Young people often neglect safety rules while riding bikes. Although the accident rate in Tripura is lower compared to other parts of the country, precautions are still necessary. He emphasized the need to stop overspeeding, drunk driving, and using mobile phones while driving. Trauma centers have been set up in various places in the state to assist accident victims.
