Chief Minister Annouces Development Plans for TSR Forces

Agartala: Oct 30: The state government is committed to the overall development of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) forces, as announced by Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha during his visit to the Binankubra No. 2 TSR Camp in West Tripura District. The Chief Minister celebrated Diwali with the TSR jawans, emphasizing the government’s support for the forces.

During his visit, Prof. Saha unveiled a series of significant plans aimed at enhancing the welfare of TSR personnel. He announced an increase in the monthly ration money for jawans from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000, recognizing their essential role in maintaining security and order. Additionally, the clothing allowance for jawans of all ranks will rise from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000, ensuring they are properly equipped.

 

To further support the physical well-being of the forces, the Chief Minister pledged Rs 5 lakh for the establishment of gymnasiums in each battalion. Medical officers willing to serve in the TSR battalion will see their salaries increased to Rs 60,000 per month. Furthermore, Prof. Saha revealed that Rs 5 crore would be allocated for the promotion of 240 jawans on an ad hoc basis, along with funds designated for the repair and maintenance of TSR posts and barracks. This comprehensive support underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and operational readiness of the TSR forces.
