Central Government Assures Support Amidst Flood Crisis

Agartala: August 26: From August 19 to August 22, the state experienced severe flooding, submerging many villages and resulting in the loss of approximately 24 lives. The financial damage is estimated to be in the crores of rupees. In response, the central government has stepped in to provide assistance, enabling a swift response to the crisis.

On Monday morning, the Chief Minister announced on social media that he had a detailed discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the flood situation. The Prime Minister assured the state of all necessary assistance during this crisis.

Additionally, the Chief Minister communicated with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, updating him on the latest status of the disaster. The Union Home Minister assured continued support in all possible ways and informed the Chief Minister that the Central Government would soon send a team to assess the situation on the ground.

The delegation from the central government will evaluate the extent of the damage and report back to the Centre. This assessment will help ensure that the state receives all necessary support to recover and rebuild in the coming days.
