Agartala May 31: The Union Ministry of Rural Development has on May 29 approved 1 lakh 30 thousand 695 new houses to the state of Tripura. Among the North Eastern states, Tripura state has been sanctioned the highest number of houses by the Central Department of Rural Development.
Minister Sushant Chowdhury announced this news at a press conference in Mahakaran on Wednesday. In the press conference, he also said that the Central Department of Rural Development had previously approved 2 lakh 1 thousand houses to the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana rural scheme. The Central Village Development Department has so far approved about 3 lakh 31 thousand houses including new and old. Also, 87,000 houses were sanctioned to the state of Tripura under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban Scheme. Among them, 53,000 houses have already been constructed. The remaining 48,000 houses are under construction. The goal is to have a green house in everyone’s home by 2024.
