Cannabis seized during smuggling in the state

Agartala On April 6, the police recovered 142 kg of dry ganja after searching the vehicle from Assam. The driver of the car was arrested. The incident took place on Thursday morning at Baijalbari on the Khoi-Agartala road. According to the details of the incident, on the basis of secret information, the police of Baijalbari outpost searched the vehicle numbered AS-01FC 7405 at around eight o’clock in the morning and seized dry gauze. A total of 142 kg of dry cannabis was recovered. The police said that the driver of the car, Akhirul Islam, has been arrested. His home is in Bangaigaon district of Assam. The vehicle is also currently in police custody. The police have started investigating the incident with a case under NDPS section.
