By-elections will be held on 5th August in two assembly constituencies in the state

Agartala, August 8: The Election Commission has announced the date of the by-elections in the two assembly constituencies of the state. The by-elections will be held in the two assembly constituencies of Dhanpur and Boxanagar on September 5. The counting of votes and the announcement of the results will be on September 8.

The Election Commission has announced the date of by-elections in 7 assembly constituencies of 6 states. The notification will be issued on August 10 and the last date for submission of nomination papers is August 17. The date for scrutiny of nomination papers is August 18 and the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers is August 21. Counting of votes and declaration of results will be on September 8.

 

Incidentally, Shamsul Haque MLA of 20 Buxnagar Constituency passed away due to heart attack and Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik resigned from the post of MLA of 23 Dhanpur Assembly Constituency due to which by-elections are going to be held in two Assembly Constituencies of the state.
