Agartala: April 21: In a mysterious and concerning incident, a jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) was admitted to Gomati District Hospital with a bullet injury to his chest.
According to medical officials, the injured jawan was initially brought to the Nutanbazar Hospital before being referred to the district hospital for further evaluation. The attending medical officer at Gomati District Hospital confirmed that the bullet wound was located on the left side of the chest. A CT scan was performed, and the jawan received preliminary treatment before being referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala for advanced medical care and further management.
The condition of the jawan has not been officially disclosed, but hospital sources indicated that the case is being handled with priority due to the nature of the injury.
At this point, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Authorities have yet to confirm whether the injury was the result of a suicide attempt using the jawan’s service weapon, or if he was shot by another individual. The lack of clarity has led to heightened concern within both the BSF and the local administration.
A formal investigation is expected to be initiated to determine the exact cause and circumstances leading to the incident. No official statement has yet been released by the BSF or local police regarding the matter.
This incident has raised questions about internal security, mental health support, and the overall wellbeing of personnel deployed in sensitive border areas. More details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
