Brown sugar worth Rs 10 crore seized: three arrested

Agartala, August 21: Police of Choraibari police station recovered about 1 kg and 300 grams of brown sugar based on information from secret sources. Brown sugar pellets were recovered from a car at Choraibari Naka Point and three youths were arrested.
It is known that the confidential sources have informed that drug paraphernalia will be smuggled into Tripura from outside the state. Accordingly, this morning at Choraibari Naka Point, the police arrested the vehicle numbered MN 01AK 3139. After searching it, they recovered one kilogram and three hundred grams of brown sugar, the market value of which is Rs 10 crore. Besides, three youths have been arrested. The arrested are Abdul Ali (23), Samar Krishnadas (27) and Prasenjit Das (23), a resident of Boxanagar. The police have started investigation by taking a case against them under NDPS section.
