BJP Momentum Grows as Defections Rise in Tripura

Agartala: Jan 25: A meeting of the BJP state election committee was held at a private hotel in the capital on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, State President Rajeev Bhattacharya, State Spokesperson Sambit Patra, BJP in-charge Mahesh Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Dev, Union State Minister Pratima Bhowmik, MP Revati Tripura, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, State General Secretary Other provincial and central leaderships including dual.  The meeting is mainly being held to take decisions at the state level before taking a final decision on the selection of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. It is known that BJP is going to announce the list of candidates in the next two days. Speaking about the meeting today, state BJP president Rajeev Bhattacharya said that the selection of candidates for the election was discussed. Negotiations are open. Discussions are going on with Tipra Matha. But BJP has fixed candidates for all the seats. The list will be announced in next one or two days. However, the central parliamentary committee will announce the candidate, said the provincial president. After the day’s meeting, a delegation led by the state BJP president flew to Delhi on an afternoon flight.
