BJP Candidates Secure Wins in West Tripura Zilla Parishad Elections

Agartala: August 12: In the recent West Tripura Zilla Parishad elections, BJP candidates Kanma Sarkar and Krishnajit Das emerged victorious in their respective constituencies. Kanma Sarkar won the seat for West Tripura Zilla Parishad seat No. 10 by a margin of 5,427 votes. In this constituency, CPIM secured 526 votes, Congress 347 votes, and other candidates received 31 votes.

Kanma Sarkar attributed his victory to the support of the people and expressed his commitment to working in their interest in the future.

Similarly, Krishnajit Das, the BJP nominee for West Tripura Zilla Parishad seat No. 11, won with 9,290 votes. CPIM received 568 votes, while Congress garnered 384 votes. Krishnajit Das credited his win to the blessings of the people and the support of MLA Ratan Chakraborty, highlighting the developmental work done in the area.

The counting of votes for the Tristar Panchayat elections is ongoing across 35 blocks in the state.
