Agartala: Jan 30: Candidates of various political parties filed nominations in South Tripura district today in festive mood. IPFT has brought external candidates to Jolaibari. Hence, he submitted his nomination today after aggrieved BJP workers fielded an independent candidate. Meanwhile, BJP and Tipra Matha candidates have also filed nominations in Manu, Sabroom, Shantirbazar and Jolaibari constituencies.Today, Tipra Matha candidate Gaurav Mog Chowdhury in Jolaibari constituency, Harendra Riang, Tipra Matha candidate in Shantirbazar, BJP’s Mylafru Mog and Tipra Matha candidate Dhananjay Tripura in Manu constituency, Shankar Roy of BJP in Sabroom constituency and Bikash Riang, an independent candidate in Jolaibari constituency have submitted their nominations.Incidentally, BJP has not fielded a candidate in Jolaibari constituency. Padma Shibir gave IPFT a chance to field a candidate in that seat. But, the local BJP workers became angry as the IPFT fielded candidates in that center by bringing outsiders. They threatened to boycott the polls. At the last minute, they put up an independent candidate in that center. Bikash Reang has submitted his nomination as an independent candidate in Jolaibari constituency today.
