Agartala: Jan 30: Surrendered militant leader of ATTF Ranjit Debbarma today filed nomination papers for assembly elections. He will contest the election as a Tipra Matha candidate in Ramchandraghat constituency. Tipra Matha supremo Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman has distanced himself from contesting the elections. However, the decision of the fate of the people at Ramchandraghat has been handed over to the surrendered militant leader, criticism is everywhere.Incidentally, Tipra has fielded candidates in 42 constituencies. Candidates have been fielded in these regional general and scheduled reserved constituencies based on caste. However, Tipra Mathar’s candidate in Ramchandraghat center has created the most stir. There has been a storm of criticism ever since the name of the candidate was announced in that center.Pradyot Kishore said that the candidates have been selected by their capability. Wanting unity for the sake of the people, Tipra will compete in the Matha elections with that goal. In this case, thinking that someone has been wronged will tear the unity of the nation. So, everyone should join forces to win the election war, he appealed.
