Agartala, January 5: Tripura has increased the allocation for the Development Fund of the Legislative Constituency. The fund for each MLA has increased from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 75 lakh. Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha made the announcement in the winter session of the Legislative Assembly today.
On this day, the Chief Minister said in the Assembly that in Tripura, 50 lakh rupees are being allocated for each MLA in the constituency development fund sector. In that, a total of 60 MLAs of the state are spending Rs 30 crore. But, there has been a demand to increase the constituency development fund for a long time. Therefore, from now another Rs. 25 lakh allocation is being increased in each constituency development fund. Out of which, an additional Rs.15 crore is required.
The opponents were not fully satisfied with the Chief Minister’s announcement. Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma and CPM MLA Dipankar Sen should allocate 1 crore rupees to MLA area development fund. Along with Dipankar Babu’s thrust, funds are not being sanctioned from the MLA Development Fund despite applying for six months.
