A Janjati family sold a one-and-a-half-day-old baby girl in Banshipara of Mungiakami R.D Block, Haludiya ADC Village under Teliamura sub-division. It is known that a resident of Banshipara area, Khokan Debbarma’s one-and-a-half-day-old daughter has been sold for 30,000 rupees. It is reported that Khokan Debbarma, the father of this daughter, sold the baby girl while his wife is sleeping. Currently, the helpless mother is moving from door to door to get her new born baby back. However, it is known that Khokan Debbarma of Banshipara, could not bear the financial shortage of the family and sold her one and a half day old baby girl in exchange of thirty thousand rupees in cash. In view of the related incident, the daughter’s mother is running from side to side like helpless.
However, due to the activities of local journalists, the matter came to the attention of the MLA and State Minister Bikas Debbarma. And as soon as the whole matter came to the attention of Minister, the administrative rushed to the spot and started their activity. Around noon on Thursday, a delegation from the CDPO office started investigating the incident. Sensation spread in Mangiakami area around the whole incident.
