The demonstration raised the voice to withdraw the Nyaya Samitha Bill passed by the Central Government. Besides, the central government should give importance to other demands for the sake of driver protection. It was informed from the mass rally that all India motorists will stop driving for three days from January 8.

All Drivers Welfare Association Gomati district committee president Shahjahan Mia, vice-president Montaj Mia and other members were present in the rally. They also said that the process of full renewal of commercial drivers should be fixed every five years, the government should pay compensation of Rs 10 lakh for professional drivers who become disabled in an accident, along with Rs 20 lakh compensation for the family members of the driver in case of death. Professional drivers who are working on outsourcing contracts should be regularized under equal pay by corporations and institutions across the country and given a minimum salary of Rs 10,000 per month and retirement pension benefits like the pension scheme run by the government across the country. If these demands are not met, they will start another movement in the coming days.
