At the offer distribution ceremony for the post of Agri Assistant, the Agriculture Minister said that for the development of agriculture and the welfare of farmers, emphasis has been given on modern and scientific farming instead of traditional farming. Agricultural workers play an important role in acclimatizing the farmers to modern and scientific methods of farming. At present there are 460 Agri Assistants in the state. 401 people have been offered today. The Minister of Agriculture expressed the hope that those who have been offered the post of Agri Assistant today will play an important role in the development of the state’s agriculture in the future. He said, the present age is the age of technology. Civilization is now machine dependent. Everything from land to irrigation, seed planting to crop production is machine dependent. Therefore, the Department of Agriculture is also helping the farmers with advanced agricultural machinery for modern farming. Besides, farmers are also being trained in advanced farming practices.

On the occasion, the Agriculture Minister also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of the state Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha have taken multifaceted programs for the socio-economic development of agriculture and farmers.
