Agartala September 22: Although the Women’s Protection Bill is passed, the central government does not want to implement it. MLA Sudip Roy Barman demanded the speedy implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill, alleging that he held a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan on Friday. He blasted the central government.
He said the Modi government has brought this bill before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the benefit of the government and for the failure of the government. He said from the press conference that this bill was passed to avoid OBC people.
But during the discussion on the Women’s Reservation Bill, separate reservation was demanded for SC, ST, OBC women representatives. But the government did not think about the women of the OBC community. About 45 percent of people belong to the OBC community in the country. This government is spending only 5 percent from the budget for them. So people of OBC community are victims of the conspiracy of Narendra Modi led government. Sudip Roy Barman strongly opposed it. Barman expressed the opinion that if reservation can be made in the interests of the people belonging to the OBC community, it will be beneficial. Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha was also present in the organized press conference.
