Agartala August 11: Training program on commercial mushroom cultivation was held on Friday. On this day, this training was held at Nagichhara Garden and Garden Crops Research Center. Farmers from different places participated in it. The training was conducted in collaboration with Tribal Research and Cultural Institute under the initiative of Nagichra Udyan and Bagicha Crops Research Center.
Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Ratanlal Nath, Minister of Food and Public Procurement Department Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister of People’s Welfare Department Bikash Debbarma were present in it. While discussing the training, Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the per capita income of the people of the state was only Rs 1 lakh 444 thousand five and a half years ago. And during the current government, it has increased to Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand. He said, people are becoming self-reliant everywhere. The minister also said that not even a piece of land can be kept vacant. In the event, Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that if the food donor farmers cannot be kept alive, if they cannot be properly guided in the right direction, then the country’s economy will collapse. The country will not be able to move forward economically. So the farmer’s income should be doubled. And in order to double this income, one program after another has been announced by the Department of Agriculture. He further said that paddy is being purchased twice every year at subsidized prices to double the farmers’ income. On this day, the farmers are trained in mushroom cultivation in pens. Experts train farmers on this day.
