Agartala March 29: Agartala city gets submerged in monsoon season. And city dwellers are plagued by mosquito and fly infestations due to shoddy drainage. So using that experience, Mayor Deepak Majumder’s Municipal Public Health Standing Committee meeting was held on Wednesday at Agartala Municipal Corporation conference hall. Mayor Deepak Majumder said, anti-larvae spraying will be done to keep the residents of Agartala free from malaria and dengue and to protect the residents from mosquito infestation.
Initiatives have been taken to keep the drainage system functional. So that water does not accumulate anywhere. In doing this work, what other materials are required in different wards are discussed in the meeting. The Mayor said that drinking water, water problems were also discussed. Besides, the councilors are instructed in their respective areas to ensure that the development works are done properly and to complete the work within the specified time. If not, the corporation thinks that the suffering of the people will rise. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, Mayor-in-Council members, Public Health Standing Committee President Corporator Abhishek Dutta and other corporation officials.
