Agartala, May 20: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday directed officials at all levels of the administration to function with greater responsibility, coordination, and efficiency in matters related to public welfare and governance. The instruction came during a Task Monitoring System meeting conducted through video conferencing from the state secretariat, where the Chief Minister reviewed several important issues concerning administration and development across the state.

The meeting focused on the overall administrative situation, healthcare services, infrastructure projects, law-and-order conditions, and various public welfare initiatives being implemented in different districts.

During the review meeting, Dr. Saha reiterated the government’s firm stand against criminal activities and drug abuse. Stressing that there would be no compromise in maintaining law and order, he instructed law enforcement agencies to intensify anti-drug operations and take strict action against those involved in illegal activities. He also called for strong legal measures against unethical medicine traders operating in the state.

The Chief Minister reviewed healthcare services and the condition of hospitals in different parts of Tripura, particularly discussing infrastructure, patient care, and management at Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, and Belonia hospitals. Necessary instructions were issued to improve healthcare facilities and ensure better medical services for patients.

Dr. Saha was also briefed on the measles situation in various districts and the progress of vaccination campaigns. He instructed concerned officials to ensure that AIDS patients are brought under appropriate treatment and support systems through timely intervention.

In another humanitarian initiative, the Chief Minister directed departments to take immediate steps to facilitate treatment at AIIMS for a specially-abled girl from Sepahijala district.

Apart from healthcare and welfare issues, the meeting also reviewed drinking water supply, road infrastructure, national highway projects, rehabilitation efforts, and education-related matters. Dr. Saha instructed officials to ensure timely implementation of projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission while maintaining quality standards.

He further directed authorities to ensure prompt garbage disposal, monitor cleanliness drives, and expedite development works around the revered Tripura Sundari Temple and adjoining areas in Udaipur.

Senior officials, district administrations, and law enforcement officers from all eight districts participated virtually in the meeting.
