In a significant step towards promoting healthier lifestyles and encouraging youth participation in fitness activities, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy on Thursday inaugurated the renovated North Sarashima Yoga and Gym Centre in Belonia.
The newly upgraded centre has been equipped with modern gym machinery and improved facilities aimed at providing the local community with better opportunities for physical exercise and wellness activities. The initiative is expected to encourage people, particularly the youth, to adopt regular fitness routines and maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Roy inspected the newly installed equipment and interacted with local residents and youth who had gathered at the venue. He expressed satisfaction over the improvements made to the centre and appreciated the efforts taken to modernise the facility.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasised the growing importance of health awareness in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. He stated that initiatives such as the renovation of the yoga and gym centre play a crucial role in guiding young people towards a more active and disciplined way of life.
“Raising health awareness and encouraging the youth to stay physically active is extremely important for building a stronger society. Regular exercise not only strengthens the body but also helps maintain mental peace and overall well-being,” Roy said.
He further added that the renovated centre would serve as more than just a place for physical workouts. According to him, it will function as a community hub where people can come together to practice yoga, engage in fitness activities, and promote a culture of healthy living.
The Minister expressed confidence that the upgraded facility would inspire young people in Belonia and surrounding areas to take greater interest in fitness and wellness. He hoped that the centre would play a vital role in motivating the youth to develop healthy habits, ultimately contributing to a stronger and healthier future for the community.
