Agartala, March 5: C. P. Radhakrishnan will arrive in Tripura on a two-day official visit beginning March 7, during which he is scheduled to attend a series of key engagements, including a university convocation and interactions with women self-help group members, officials said on Thursday.
According to West Tripura District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar, the state administration has initiated comprehensive preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit. Senior administrative and police officials have been assigned responsibilities related to security, logistics, and coordination.
On the morning of March 8, the Vice-President will pay homage to fallen soldiers at the Albert Ekka War Memorial in Agartala. The memorial honours the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
Later in the day, he will travel to Udaipur in Gomati district to offer prayers at the revered Tripurasundari Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and a significant spiritual landmark in the state.
Following the temple visit, the Vice-President will attend the 14th convocation ceremony of Tripura University. During the event, he is scheduled to confer degrees upon graduating students and participate in academic and ceremonial proceedings organised by the university authorities.
As part of his itinerary, Radhakrishnan will also interact with women members of self-help groups, popularly known as “Lakhpati Didis,” at the International Fair Ground in Hapania on the outskirts of Agartala.
Officials said the visit underscores the Centre’s engagement with educational institutions and grassroots women entrepreneurs in the state.
