Agartala, January 31: A review meeting was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate & Collector, North Tripura, Chandni Chandran, to assess the progress of developmental initiatives during the current financial year. The session saw the participation of the Additional District Magistrate & Collector and representatives from all eight Block Mission Management Units (BMMUs), led by the respective Block Development Officers (BDOs).
The meeting focused on evaluating key livelihood interventions, particularly the saturation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), procurement of NFC machinery, and the formation of Producer Groups (PGs). These initiatives are being prioritised to boost rural income generation and promote inclusive community participation in sustainable development activities.
During the discussions, officials reported on the current achievements and challenges faced in implementing these programs. The District Magistrate emphasised the importance of strong grassroots-level monitoring to ensure the saturation of SHGs across all blocks. She highlighted that empowering women-led economic activities through SHGs is vital for strengthening rural economies and improving household incomes.
The meeting also reviewed the role of NFC machinery in enhancing agricultural productivity and efficiency. Officials discussed how the creation of Producer Groups can facilitate collective marketing, better resource management, and more effective coordination among rural producers.
Concluding the session, Chandni Chandran issued directives to intensify efforts in livelihood programs, ensure timely procurement of essential resources, and strengthen coordination between the BMMUs and district authorities. Officials expressed confidence that the combined focus on SHG saturation, NFC machinery deployment, and Producer Group formation will contribute significantly to improving rural livelihoods and achieving the financial year’s development targets.
The review underscored the district administration’s commitment to promoting sustainable rural development, enhancing economic self-reliance, and empowering local communities to actively participate in income-generating and capacity-building initiatives across North Tripura.
