Upon arrival, Scindia was warmly received by State Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy. He was accompanied by State Ministers Santana Chakma (Industry and Commerce), Animesh Debbarma (Forest, Science & Technology, Environment), and Jadab Lal Debnath, along with senior administrative officials including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and Forest Department representatives.

The Union Minister’s tour began at Mamun Enterprise in Fulbari, where he inspected agarwood plantations and raw materials while interacting with workers and members of the Agar Association. He then visited Kadamtala and Baragol, exploring the agarwood market and laying the foundation stone for the Agarwood Cluster Processing Centre, a project expected to boost local processing and trade.

Addressing a public gathering at Baragol School Ground, Scindia highlighted Tripura’s unique natural resources and their potential for creating sustainable industries that support economic growth. He stressed that the agarwood sector, with its high demand in international markets, can significantly enhance the state’s industrial footprint.

Minister Tinku Roy described the visit as a milestone for North Tripura, noting that it reinforced the state’s commitment to industrial development and strategic collaborations. Scindia, at a subsequent press conference, reaffirmed the central government’s support for promoting Tripura’s agarwood industry internationally and cited past initiatives such as Bio-Seller Meets organized by the state government. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the Northeast includes making Tripura a key player in global trade.

Observers believe that Scindia’s visit will strengthen the agarwood industry, open avenues for industrial growth, generate employment, and boost tourism, further positioning Tripura as a center for economic and industrial development.
