Agartala, December 15:
Tension and disappointment prevailed at the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) office on Monday after around 60 candidates who had cleared both TET-I and TET-II arrived seeking answers on why their names were missing from the recently published merit list.

The candidates said they had completed their document verification in July, submitting all required certificates and credentials. According to them, officials raised no concerns about eligibility during verification, leading them to believe they were fully qualified for inclusion in the final list.

However, when the merit list was released on Saturday, not a single one of their names appeared. Shocked by the unexpected exclusion, the candidates rushed to the TRBT office hoping to meet the Chairman, but were unable to do so. They later met the Controller for an explanation.

The candidates allege the Controller informed them that 18-month training courses were not accepted for recruitment. Strongly disputing this justification, they said, “Nowhere is it stated that our course is 18 months. It is clearly a two-year course as per our certificates.”

They added that during the verification process, no official indicated that their applications were invalid or incomplete. “We submitted every document they asked for. How can our names suddenly vanish from the merit list?” one of the candidates questioned.

Many of the affected individuals are currently teaching in private institutions and had been hoping for stable government employment. “We have worked hard for years, clearing TET and fulfilling all criteria. This sudden exclusion has left us devastated,” they said.

Seeking resolution, the candidates appealed directly to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to intervene. “We request the Chief Minister to review our case. We only want justice and fair consideration,” they stated.

The TRBT has not issued any official clarification yet, and the candidates plan to continue pursuing answers until the matter is resolved.
